Madagascar Research and Conservation Institute
Otherwise known as MRCI, is a registered NGO and volunteer-based tourism organization that specializes in community development, research and conservation-based tourism mainly for gap year individuals. We also offer PADI diving courses through our onsite diving school which is one of Southern Africa’s largest registered PADI diving schools.
MRCI has 2 accommodations sites: One on Nosy Komba island where we can accommodate 54 guests and the other on Ampohana beach where we can accommodate 24 guests. In addition to this, we have a 50ft dive boat and a 21 ft speed boat for transfers and diving. Our target age is 18 to 25 but we do often have older clients as well.
We also provide bespoke community-based tours for 50 years and above clientele that includes a balance of community work and other recreational activities such as swimming with whale sharks, snorkeling and visiting historic sites.
Charters and Tours
Specializes in yacht and boat charter for family holidays, diving and corporate fishing events. In addition to this, we also provide land-based transfers and land-based hotel accommodation as well as overland tours and beach and island hopping tours. We are also positioned to offer incentive-based or team building programs.
Luna Moon Sailing
It is a 100-year-old 118ft gaff rig schooner. We offer sail training, private charters, corporate charters, team building or combinations thereof.
Sailing conditions are ideal in northern Madagascar
offering steady winds and calm warm seas.
